The essence of examining the similarity of scholarly works and academic ethics

The Naresuan University Graduate School publicized its knowledge of the essence of examining the similarity of scholarly works, stating that Similarity numbers should not be used as a plagiarism decision because Similarity is only a repetition of the text the program detects, while Plagiarism is an ethical judgment that must be considered for context and reference. Using programs like iThenticate or Turnitin is only a preliminary screening tool. In addition, the originality and academic ethics(Academic Integrity) must occur throughout the research cycle, from thinking through the problem, to analyzing the data honestly, to writing in their own language, to choosing a credible journal. The researcher's main goal is to create the work with the highest Integrity on the basis of honesty and correct citation.
